The Summer Edit

Lilly Pulitzer said, "It's always summer somewhere," and now Ann Lowengart Interiors enjoys the best of Northern California and Southern Florida. Yes, Annie has opened a studio in Palm Beach. Still firmly headquartered in the Bay Area, Ann Lowengart Interiors garnered press in AD's  "Web Exclusive Home Tour" feature of their Historic Ross project. The San Francisco William Wurster home also received more coverage in California Homes Magazine's article, "Pacific Heights Modernism." Additionally, Better Homes & Gardens interviewed Annie about a sunny Kentfield breakfast nook. Summer has been busy at Ann Lowengart Interiors, installing projects, planning and completing photoshoots, and expanding the business.

Is there anything more thrilling than seeing your project picked up by AD? This June, Ann Lowengart Interiors' historic Ross residence appears in the magazine's "Web Exclusive Home Tour" feature.  Writer David Nash perfectly captures the fairy tale quality of the shingled three-story home built on a pastoral gated estate. Annie worked with Cook Construction to renovate and reimagine the 1941 house, deftly combining the client's existing antiques and art with contemporary furnishings for a fresh and current look.

Ann Lowengart Interiors is known for its bold use of color. Paige Porter Fischer recently interviewed Annie about this sunny breakfast nook for Better Homes & Gardens. The inspiration for the room came from the client's favorite yellow teapot, with the backdrop of Benjamin Moore's Simply White, the chrome yellow vinyl upholstery pops. A green foliate pattern at the windows and utilized for throw pillows bridge the interior with the exterior.

The Very Pink Of Perfection:
Pink In Interiors

From the pale pink sandstone of Hawa Mahal in Jaipur to Luis Barragán's vivid Rosa Mexicano, pink conveys romance, optimism, and energy in architecture. At Ann Lowengart Interiors, there is a perfect shade of pink for every room and function in the house.   Annie painted the library of a 1941 Ross estate a saturated old rose color.  A quiet getaway room in a colonial-style home on the Peninsula received whisper pink upholstery and accessories.  The team selected bold pink for the graphic marbled wallpaper, upholstered beds, and bamboo cracked ice side chairs in a Tiburon girls' bedroom.

Going East: Ann Lowengart Interiors Expands To Palm Beach

Ann Lowengart Interiors has expanded East and opened a Palm Beach studio. Annie, a California native, calls Marin County home and the headquarters of her business. Still, she is enjoying the tropical ambiance of Palm Beach and seeing how its brilliant light and landscape will influence her interior design. Recently she stayed at the palatial grand hotel, The Breakers Palm Beach. The Villa Medici inspired its opulent Renaissance Revival style. Great architecture punctuates Southern Florida's topography with buildings by Addison Mizner and F. Burrall Hoffman.

Hi Newsletter Friends,

What a surprisingly wonderful “season” this has been.  I learned about those proverbial seasons from a sage friend when she imparted special wisdom about women’s friendships. “For a reason or a season”, she said.  How true!

Since then I think of everything in seasons and this year-and-a-half has certainly been one! But if I’m honest, there have really been a ton of silver linings. One is that we figured out that we actually can do almost everything remotely. My initial terror around not physically being with my team lead to the discovery that they were more than capable of absolutely nailing it out at home, running even more big projects through the system than we ever had before. I also learned that clients, even though they kinda wanted to see me, were just fine enjoying meeting in their PJ’s with a sweatshirt on while they sheltered in place in Tahoe, Hawaii and other far flung locations.

Also, I got just so much time with my family, as I’m sure you did with yours.  One of my people discovered a passion for fishing while the other got yet another “season“  with her besties from high school as she trudged away at our dining table beginning at 8:30am East Coast Time.

Then there’s the Florida thing.  After Zooming for a full year with nary a detail missed I thought, why not take this show on the road? So here we are - with a cute condo as my home-away-from-home, a new office on “Billionaires’ Row” and many shocking conversations with vendors exclaiming “Of course we’ll work in Florida!”  From my window treatment fabricator who’s ready to go tomorrow, to one of my favorite contractors who already has an office there, I’m locked and loaded.  Looking forward to seeing what God brings.

Blessings,
Annie
