The Very Pink of Perfection: Pink in Interiors
From the faintest whisper of blush to intense magenta, the color pink reminds us of spring; Japanese cherry blossom trees, peonies, sunsets, and sunrises. Ann Lowengart Interiors uses all the shades and tints in their interiors. For the library of a 1941 Ross estate where the client loves pink, Annie selected a saturated old-rose color to paint the walls, bookshelves, and cabinetry a high gloss finish. She upholstered the club chairs in a luxurious mohair velvet in the same hue. Accent fabrics feature floral and foliate motifs—the room balances the pink with a white ceiling, carpet, and accessories.
What adult doesn't need a getaway room? Especially when you are two busy tech executives with two active small children. Ann Lowengart Interiors created this calm retreat on the second floor of a colonial-style home on the Peninsula. A pale pink modern sectional anchors the room. Annie complemented this with a tone-on-tone wallpaper and contemporary brass wall sconce featuring a pink conical shape shade. The couple comes here to relax and watch TV or quietly WFH.
In Tiburon, a bold pink and white marbled wallpaper sets the tone for this girls’ room. Ann Lowengart Interiors juxtaposed modern with traditional elements: white fur stools at one end of the bed and pagoda-shaped headboards at the other. Annie used her signature dressmaker details of contrast banding on the Roman shades. This room smoothly transitions from childhood to teenagedom with its mix of whimsical touches and tailored lines.
