Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This): How To Refresh Your Bedroom

Neutral Territory
A neutral color scheme elevates the sophistication of a room. This warm gray guest room in Tiburon is the perfect place to relax and recharge. We layered the room with subtle textures. Paper-backed silk fabric covers the walls. The tufted headboard is flanked with raffia-covered nightstands. Cylinder-shaped ceramic lamps add reading light and a geometric wool carpet grounds the room.

Symmetrical Synergy
This Kentfield home belongs to an active family of five. For the master bedroom, we wanted to create an oasis of calm.  We accomplished this with a balanced floor plan and a cool color scheme. The iron bed was centered between two windows and flanked by matching nightstands with white ceramic urn table lamps.  The symmetrical elements add a sense of order and organization.

Fragrant Flowers
Add fresh flowers to your bedroom, they add life and scent to your bedside or dresser. We like bouquets composed of a single type of flower in white, blush, or pink.

Art for Art's Sake
To give your bedroom an instant renewal add a piece of art. For this Master Suite in a Napa, we installed an abstract painting by Tom Lieber on the navy grass-cloth wallcovering accent wall. We juxtaposed the blue with Benjamin Moore's Garden Court green high gloss paint. The feeling is youthful and fresh.

Accent Wall
In lieu of a piece of art, we like to use beautiful wallpapers as an accent wall. For this sophisticated bedroom in Marin, we installed a  Fornasetti designed cloud paper from Cole & Son. Gazing at the fantasy-themed wall is a dreamy way to fall asleep.
